Breaking News!!!

Chase, here, Lovely Buddies, Well, actually, I had to whisper this post into Belinda's ear, and she is at the screen right now, typing this for me. You'll understand why in a minute. Today started out like any other day at the Bond Head Luxury Pet Hotel. Belinda and I went for a walk in the back yard before she had to leave for church. Belinda spotted a fox, but I didn't see him this time. Instead, she mentioned the word, "Treat," and we both headed inside at a fast trot, leaving the bunnies of Bond Head to wily Mr. Fox. After she came back from church, she called my bluff with the halter and leash again, and as I lay on the rug, she gave a soft tug, opened the door, and I was up and out in a jiffy! Even humans need a tug sometimes to get off the couch and go for a walk! We had just got back when Belinda saw a message on FB. It was from Mom and Dad, Peter and Beth. Oh, my goodness, they were back!!! And they were coming to pick me up!! Belinda packed my

Hello to All My Friends, Today's story is a short one because it's time for beddy-byes already and all this partying is tiring me out! Today Belinda cracked the code! She realized that all along I was bluffing about my halter and leash. She needed to have a proper walk, even though it was pouring with rain, so she ignored my bluff, put on the equipment, opened the door and said, "Let's go." And I went. Just like that! Oh, well, it was fun while it lasted, having her run around the lawn with me for exercise. I have a feeling that she'll still do that too. 👅 We both got wet on our walk. I left my mark all over, and feel like I own the village right now! When we got home my coat was so drenched that Belinda though she could mop the floor with me, but instead, she dried me off with a towel, and later she brushed my coat because I couldn't do a thing with it. She had to go out to a Burston Boys Birthday Brunch after the walk, then she came back for

A Very Busy Day

Hello, My Dear Friends! Chase here again! Today I was officially deputized by Belinda. Here I am standing at the ready to be of assistance the moment anything drops to the floor. Belinda was making some carrot quiches, Bavarian Apple Torte, Chicken Pot-Pies, Macaroni Cheese, and Meatloaf. Can you guess what my favourite things to drop to the floor were? Yes! You guessed right--chicken and cheese! That's probably because they make good alliteration with my name--Chase the Cheese and Chicken fan! When you're working as hard as I worked beside Belinda today, you have to have a break or two. Here I am having a really good, all-out break! Belinda thought it looked so comfy, but she wouldn't come down and try it!  Instead of going for walkies around the village, Belinda took me around the back yard several times, and then she kneeled down and weeded one of the flower beds, while I kept her company.   I see that Belinda caught me red-pawed with her monkey toys. She said

Hello, Dear Friends, Chase, here with my Thursday Doggie Diary. When Belinda’s Friend, Susan, visited two days ago, she admired my cuteness and asked Belinda, “So is Chase your favourite so far?” Belinda smiled and said, “No, I can’t have a favourite--they are all such unique personalities, and I love them all.” She was thinking about Oscar, the little white dog who had some health needs and was quite an old “little boy.” He had dental and breath issues and bad kidneys, but he still had lots of love to give. Then there was the famous FIFA, an extraordinary dog, who stole Belinda’s heart and even Paul’s, plus was admired by several neighbours. And of course, Magic and Spero, the dynamic pair of handsome family dogs, an Aussie and a Golden Retriever. But deep down, I could tell that there was a favourite, a dog who went on many Belinda walks because he used to live in the downstairs apartment. He was Molson the Golden Retriever. I’ve seen his photo on her bookshelf, a

Lemon Loaves and Lots of Loving

Chasie here, my lovely friends, I am hopping on the keys earlier tonight. Belinda and I had two late nights, and it's catching up with us! Yesterday she made lots of pastry, then twelve apple pies! Then Peter Burston called to chat on his way home. She had been having a recovery nap but started making lemon loaves while he was talking. She wasn't quite awake and also listening to Peter and she mixed up the recipe. When they cooled off she called them "failed lemon loaves." Th at means Belinda sliced them up to eat and not sell. Before we went to bed she had a slice with a cup of tea and saved the last tiny piece for me. I LOVE failed lemon loaves!! Now I notice right away when I smell lemon loaf, and I am right there waiting for my little bite! This morning I helped Mr. Paul with his plans for the day. I stood beside him, supporting him as he worked on his phone. I love helping my people. Then Belinda had to go to an appointment and grocery shopping. She to

Dear Wonderful Friends, It's your friend, Chase, here, with another day and lots to show and tell you! First, I thought I'd show you my "kit" that came with me when I arrived last Monday evening. I went with a blue bag that had the words, "Unwrapping the Joy." That was a little clue to Belinda that she would be doing precisely that every day, while I am here. My food is from Chicken Soup for the Soul. That's because Mom and Dad (Peter and Beth) love me and only give me th e best food. The Cesar Softies are my treats. I get those when I listen and "stand down" from barking at shadows. As soon as I stop, Belinda tells me that I'm such a good boy, and gives me a treat. I am so cute when I sit up and beg that she can never stop at just one! Hehehe! Belinda's friend, Susan, popped I for a quick visit on her way to Nova Scotia. I liked her right away and could tell she has a sweet doggie at home. I heard her name is Gogo! After Su

Hello, My Friends, Chasie here! I can't wait to tell you about my day. The photos aren't in the right order, but I only have paws to use on the keyboard. I think I'm doing very well all things considered. The photo with the rocking chair is when I was waiting patiently for Belinda to finish getting ready this morning. I did my best to help her speed up a little. While she brushed her teeth I licked and exfoliated her feet. I do a good job of getting between the toes. If on ly she'd cooperate-- but she is very ticklish and keeps her toes as tightly together as she can, trying to cover up one foot with the other while laughing hysterically, which does interfere with the toothbrushing--but there's no stopping me--i like to send my people out to the world well groomed because I do love and take pride in them. 🐾 We were out and about in the best part of the day. At one point it sounded as though every bird in the world was chirping and singing overhead as we wa
